Journey through Norway's northernmost railway aboard the Arctic Train

Ride the Arctic Train through Norway’s northernmost railway, where a wild, untouched landscape awaits. Travel from the ice-blue fjord of Narvik up to the towering mountains near the Swedish border at Bjørnefjell. This unforgettable trip covers 36 kilometers of scenic Arctic beauty, taking you through dramatic fjords, snow-dusted peaks, and frozen waterfalls.

An Experience Through Time

Along the way, the "Voice of Norway" app unveils the rich history of each location, with the railway’s story dating back to the late 19th century. Originally constructed as Europe’s “Klondyke” to transport iron ore from Sweden, this route became crucial during WWII and saw intense battles for control during the Battle of Narvik in 1940. Today, this historical legacy adds a layer of intrigue to your Arctic adventure.

With multiple stops for scenic views and historic sites, the Arctic Train journey is a perfect mix of awe-inspiring nature, dramatic history, and Norwegian culture.
